“Glassman Corporation was involved in a significant building upgrade to Ashland Jr-Sr High School, beginning in March and concluding in September (2018). This project was the first major capital improvement project and investment ($2 million) taken on by USD 220 since the construction of the building in 1962. The complete project included the installation of a heating, ventilation, air conditioning system, new windows, and the removal of all outdated equipment.
Glassman began the project in the Spring, which meant they would start work before the end of the school year. Many items were discussed, such as interrupting class schedules, time on the site, addressing safety and security concerns, and interaction with students and staff. Glassman made sure to review every aspect of the project before beginning.
First and foremost, the employees who worked throughout this project were of the utmost character. These workers started as strangers and ended up becoming a part of the USD 220 family by the time they left.
Second, Glassman worked diligently to meet the needs of the school district, by working around our needs, regardless of how this would change their timeline and plans. They put our students and staff first.
Third, the craftsmanship they exhibited was second to none. Glassman made sure we knew what they were doing, and continuously provided project updates, as well as input and suggestion as they worked.
Finally, as the project came to an end, Glassman Corporation took one extra step by helping USD 220 to host an open house and community cookout. This event helped us roll out our new upgrades to the community and showcase the new HVAC system.
Glassman Corporation and their employees didn’t just install an HVAC system for our school district; they made a lasting impact on our community. They took the time to show their pride in their work, but more importantly, they took the time to treat us like family.” – Jamie Wetig, Ed. S, Superintendent of Schools
